Taking personality tests doesn’t mean you’re going to have to tick boxes in a magazine on the weekend or that you must immediately register for a skills assessment to answer multiple questions.
In between these two extremes, there are plenty of personality tests, which will help you get to know yourself better. And therefore, to better advance on your life path.
Here is a selection of the best personality tests you can take.
The MBTI Test
The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) test is particularly well known and used in the professional world, especially in recruitment. It was developed in the early 1960s by Isabel Briggs Myer and her mother Katherine Cook Briggs. It is based on the work of Carl Jung, and it is estimated that around 2 million people take it each year.
You will have to position yourself about a series of affirmations, aimed at establishing your reactions and your usual behaviors. The most comprehensive test consists of 92 questions and a two-hour interview. But you can also take it online, especially on this site.
After answering the questions, you will be linked to a typical psychological profile. You will see if you are more introverted or extroverted if you trust your senses or your intuition, logic, or your feelings.
A panel of sixteen profiles exists, which are the researcher, the organizer, the entrepreneur, the inventor, the idealist, the psychologist, the advisor, the facilitator, the craftsman, the administrator, the promoter, the manager, the artist, the protector, the actor, the bon vivant.
This test helps you better understand what motivates you and how you function.
DISC
DISC is the result of the work of American psychologist William Marston.
He was an atypical personality for his time: he was the creator of Wonder Woman and the lie detector, with his wife. He was interested in the emotions and behaviors of “normal” people, while psychologists of that time focused on patients with pathologies.
However, it was W. Clarke who developed the test in the 1950s, then J. Geier in the 1970s learned about ten behaviors from it.
Managers who know that everyone is managed differently use DISC. Companies use it for its simplicity and practicality. Individually, he is very enlightening in understanding his attitudes or those of certain colleagues and thus works better together.
